Zina Saunders, born August 30, 1953, is an artist, writer, and educator, and the daughter of illustrator Norman Saunders. As a child she spent hours in her father's studio while he painted Topps bubblegum-card art, and she went on to study at the High School of Music & Art and Cooper Union.
Her illustration clients have included Simon & Schuster, Random House, Scholastic, and Oxford University Press, alongside editorial work for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times Sunday Book Review. Her Pink Panther character work for United Artists earned a Print award, and her 106-illustration Native Americans trading card set was named Most Creative Trading Card Set by Non-Sport Update. Her book Overlooked New York was published in 2009.
