Michael Collins

Mike Collins was born May 5, 1961, in West Bromwich, England, and holds a law degree, which he set aside to illustrate comics full-time after moving to Cardiff, Wales, in 1985. He joined Marvel UK in 1983, working on Transformers and Spider-Man, before beginning a long run at DC Comics in 1986.

For 2000 AD he drew Judge Dredd, Judge Anderson, Sláine, and Rogue Trooper, and co-created American Gothic. He is closely associated with BBC's Doctor Who, holding the longest uninterrupted run as an artist on Panini's Doctor Who Magazine strip, and later worked as a storyboard artist on the show itself. Collins also illustrated for the Harry Potter Trading Card Game — surviving auction records show base-set cards signed by him in gold ink, sold directly by the artist.
