Jeff Laubenstein

Jeff Laubenstein grew up in Schaumburg, Illinois, drawing scenes from cartoons and movies before Dungeons & Dragons pulled him toward fantasy art; the French comics artists Enki Bilal and Mœbius, along with golden-age illustrators N. C. Wyeth and Maxfield Parrish, shaped his style. He earned a BFA in Illustration from Northern Illinois University in 1986.

For twelve years he worked at FASA Corporation as an illustrator, art director, and concept artist across Shadowrun, BattleTech, Earthdawn, and Star Trek, winning three Origins Awards along the way, and is particularly credited with defining Shadowrun's visual identity. He has also painted Magic: The Gathering cards, including Show and Tell and Recurring Nightmare.
