Dennis Calero was born January 2, 1972, in Miami Beach, and trained at the New World School of the Arts before attending Pratt Institute on a partial scholarship. He is best known in comics for X-Men Noir, Spider-Man Noir, and a run on X-Factor that earned a Harvey Award nomination for Best New Series in 2006.
Calero has also illustrated for tabletop roleplaying games since 1996, beginning with White Wolf and later contributing interior art to Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms sourcebooks. He co-founded Atomic Paintbrush, one of the first digital coloring studios to work in mainstream comics.
